Chairman and Deputy Re-Elected

7/28/2004

Clive Jermy was re-elected yesterday as Chairman of Deer Industry New Zealand for a further year with John Scur re-elected Deputy Chairman.

Mr Jermy, who farms at Palmerston in Otago, was first appointed as a Board Member of Deer Industry New Zealand in 1993 and has been Chairman since 1999.

Mr Scurr farms at Wanaka and was appointed as a Board Member in 2002 as part of the transitional arrangements for the deer industry’s restructuring which saw the establishment of Deer Industry New Zealand and was elected Deputy Chairman last year.

Mr Jermy and Mr Scur were both nominated to the Deer Industry New Zealand Board by the New Zealand Deer Farmers’ Association.

The Board thanked outgoing Board Member Michael Pattison of Wellington for his outstanding service to the deer industry as a Board Member since 1998 and prior to that as General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of the Game Industry Board (now operating as Deer Industry New Zealand).  Mr Pattison’s seat was disestablished as a result of a return to a Board of eight members after a transitional period when the Board was expanded to ten to oversee the transition to the Deer Industry New Zealand structure.
