New General Manager Marketing Appointed

Deer Industry New Zealand announced the appointment of Daimien Reynolds to the role of General Manager Marketing.

Mr Reynolds comes to Deer Industry New Zealand with a strong background in marketing, particularly international market development, public relations and e-marketing. His previous role was as a project manager for Tourism Resource Consultants – an international tourism consultancy. He has also held event management roles with Toyota New Zealand and marketing roles at Tourism New Zealand.

The primary focus of Mr Reynolds’ role is the execution of velvet industry good activities. This includes velvet promotion, velvet research and new market development. He will also provide additional resource to assist with venison promotion.

“We are very pleased to welcome Daimien to Deer Industry New Zealand, and to have attracted a person of his calibre” said Mark O’Connor, Deer Industry New Zealand’s chief executive. “Although it is a very difficult time for the NZ deer industry, the future remains bright and I look forward to Daimien making a solid contribution to the industry”.

Mr Reynolds was raised on a sheep and cattle farm in Hawke’s Bay. He is a keen hunter and fisherman. As well as marketing qualifications, he also has a diploma in Japanese. Mr Reynolds will begin at Deer Industry New Zealand in early February.

Deer Industry New Zealand’s role is to promote and assist the development of the New Zealand deer industry.
