We are pleased to release the March 2026 State of the Industry report, DINZ’s inaugural snapshot of where the New Zealand deer industry sits right now. It is the first of two State of the Industry reports planned for 2026, with a second release tentatively scheduled for late August or September. In a sector where conditions, markets and costs can shift quickly, this report is designed to provide a timely, current‑state view of the industry.
The report includes coverage of industry composition by region, structure and farm type, farmgate prices and supply, export markets and demand, and costs and broader industry economics.
“Our goal with this report is to ensure farmers, processors, exporters and other industry stakeholders have access to the best information available,” said DINZ CEO Rhys Griffiths. “Good decisions depend on good data. By bringing together the latest industry information, we aim to support business planning and help the industry respond with confidence to changing conditions.”
